In spite of a 4-1 advantage from their encounter a fortnight ago in Libreville, Dream Team VI assistant coach, Fatai Amoo says the they’ll play Gabon like the result was goalless from the first leg.
Nigeria welcomes the Gabon U-23 team to Abuja this weekend in the reverse fixture of the double header qualifiers for a spot in the Men’s football event of the 2015 All African Games in Brazaville, Congo.
According to the former Shooting Stars Coach, Nigeria’s Dream Team VI will not want to take anything for granted on Saturday.
” We are not looking at it from the pers[ective of having won 4-1. We surprised them in the first-leg it seemed and were shocked at the result, so we are not giving them that room to surprise us.
” We will play them like we don’t have an advantage going into that match and go all out to get a result.”
Gabon will are all to familiar with their poor form away from home and particularly in Nigeria where their U-17 fell and failed to qualify for the CAF U-17s tourney in Niger after securing a win in the first-leg. The task for their U-23 compatriots will be to overturn what certainly seems to be insurmountable.
