Candidates for the 2015 Joint Admissions and Matriculation
Board (JAMB)’s Computer Based Test (CBT) were unable to sit for the
examination at Oduduwa School of Professional Studies at the
Idimu/Egbeda centre, on Tuesday 10th February 2015.
The disruption may have been caused by allegedly poorly equipped computers incapable of meeting the stringent requirements for the level of the CBT sophistication. How could JAMB accredit a plaza as a center for their exam, one of the candidates said. .
JAMB officially introduced CBT in 2014 to curb examination malpractice, result black-out and other challenges undermining the paper pencil test.
Candidates who were scheduled to write the exam in 3 batches from 6am till 4pm, waited all day without concrete official explanations on the issues. Even some parents who came with their wards forced their way into the building and demanded answers, none was provided.
Some candidates who complained said they reached the centre as early as 5:40am to ensure they meet up with the 6.00am start time.
The JAMB officials at the scene blamed ‘network problem’ for the disruption.
Pen and paper type is still the best, some people are smilling while some are crying. This will send a lot of Nigerians to other countries for university education, contries like Ghana, Benin Republic, Togo, Cameroon etc. Thereby growing their economy while we will be here complaining.
