Shooting At US Convenience Store Kills 3 And Injures 4

Three people were shot dead and four others injured in an alleged drive-by shooting at a Stockton, United States store on Tuesday night. Local police officer Joe Silva described the shooting as the worst in the area’s recent history.
20-year-old Aliyah Taylor, 27-year-old Arniska Lofton and 23-year-old KabinKennebrew, were reported to have been killed in the shooting.  The four injured were hospitalized and expected to survive, according to Silva.
It was unknown whether there were multiple shooters.  Police are still conducting interviews with some of the witnesses who are reported to have heard up to 40 gunshots.
Some witnesses said they believed those who were shot did not have gang ties.  One resident, Kayla Sandoval told the Daily Mail, she was angered that innocent people were caught up in the violence.
“The deceased had loved ones – we don’t bring our kids out because of things like this”, she said.
No arrests have been made yet.
Silva said the shooting was likely to be gang related.  He said the inland port city was a crime-ridden area known for drug distribution.
In 2014, Stockton was reported to have had 49 killings, an increase from the previous year.  The city reached record numbers in 2012 with 71 homicides, and 58 in 2011.
