Lobi stars coach Justin Tenger has described his team’s 3-3 comeback draw against reigning league champions Kano Pillars at the Aper Aku stadium weekend past as nothing short of a miracle.
Tenger whose side trailed 2-0 and 3-1 at different points in the WK 19 encounter told footballlive.ng that he was on the verge of giving up on the match already only to see his team come up with two goals to level scores at the end of the encounter.
“This is to tell the whole world that only God brought about that miracle because ordinarily, if any human being asks me what happened, I wouldn’t have anything to say”
Abdulazeez Bashir had earlier gotten a brace for Pillars in the first half, while Anthony Agbaji tapped into his own net early in the second half with the Sai masugida side cruising to what was going to be a memorable victory but in a bizarre twist, much to the delight of home fans.
Akleche Enokela clawed one back for Lobi just as the home fans kept urging the team on to complete the comeback. The rewards of hard work and focus was to be reaped when Lobi was granted a penalty when Anthony Okpotu got tripped in the area on 70th minute but Lobi goalie Teerna Melai saw his penalty parried to safety by Lawrence John in Pillars goal.
With Pillars putting their foot off the gas, Abdulrahman Bashir on 88th minute gave Lobi a lifeline before Anthony Okpotu who had been a real threat all evening snatched a memorable equalizer on regulation time.
