Abraham Attah Wins Marcello Mastrioianni Prize At Venice Film Festival

Young Ghanian actor Abraham Attah was recognized at the Venice Film Festival, for his work on Beasts Of No Nation.
Young Abraham Attah was awarded the Marcello Mastroianni Prize for Best Acting Debut.

Beasts of No Nation is a 2015 American war drama film directed, written and
filmed by Cary Fukunaga , based on the 2005 novel of the same name by
Uzodinma Iweala . The film stars Idris Elba , Ama K. Abebrese , Grace Nortey,
David Dontoh and Opeyemi Fagbohungbe. It was screened in the main
competition section of the 72nd Venice International Film Festival where
it won the Marcello Mastroianni Award.
It has been selected to be shown in the Special Presentations section of the
2015 Toronto International Film Festival . The film is scheduled to be
released on Netflix globally on October 16, 2015 and the same day, the film
will be released in a limited release by Bleecker Street .
Plot
In an unnamed West African country, when civil war tears his family apart and
militants kill his father, a young boy named Agu is forced to join a unit of
mercenary fighters.
