Another article from our princess Nora Oma Patrick, that gave us they don't like you!Read here if you haven't read them part 1 and part two hereShe is an amazing writer and a lot people of people started calling and sending messages after reading it.
We discuses it on IG and twitter with many poeople.
She is here again on Gender Equality.
I shared this here because I know it is the truth, a lot of us girls/ladies/women think it is the man's responsibility, sweeties it is not.
Read below.....
My comment on a Friend's wall in response to gender equality and what a man can do , a woman can do better :
Nigerian babes, let's say :
If you go on a date with a guy , the bill is not only the mans' responsibility .
If he can't or request for it to be split , then as courtesy demands on a date , you split the bill .
It's a date , it stands and has the potential of benefiting both of you ; and so you should share in the gains and woes .
Like my friend ChySophy Prince said , "may I add the need to communicate. Don't go eating and hanging out in a place you can't afford. Discuss the venue and unless he states that the treat is on him. Find some middle grounds."
If you are going on date , don't assume because he is a man , he should of course pay , that it is his responsibility ; and that's there is gender equality !
I find it ridiculous that a lot of Nigerian ladies do not want to be equal or believe in gender equality when it comes to paying bills or money in general .
It is never a man's responsibility to take care of an adult woman ; he is not your father !
If you are more than 18 years , you are an adult and therefore should cater for yourself or go to your parents to ask for help ; they decided and chose to bring you into this wicked Isis inflicted world .
Yes he can be generous enough to help you financially , as an expression of his love , based on the notion of my woman deserves the best , but it is not and never his responsibility to train you in school, to pay for your Brazilian hair , nails , shopping in Allen Avenue or sponsor your trip to Dubai ; especially when you are a mere girlfriend , Bae,Boo or whatever little name that tickles your bumbum that you want to be addressed as .
And please don't tell me you kuchi kuchi with him!
Shining involves two surfaces , and so Congo is shined by two people , therefore you are not doing him a favour and he is definitely not using you !
If your argument for , this my opinion is that he has to take care of you because he shines your Congo , then you are not better than that babe standing under Ojuelegba bridge in the night saying good evening sir !
To me , this is gender equality and what a man can do , a woman can do better analogy !
Gender equality in relationship means : Equal contributions , mutual respect and understanding of each other's opinions and concerns , trust and recognitions in everything you do as a couple ,
Money and financial responsibilities not excluded !
