Home-based Super Eagles were held to a goalless draw by Nigeria National League (NNL) Katsina United in a test game at the Abuja National Stadium on Thursday.The Eagles were previously scheduled to clash with the country’s U-23s after both sides beat each other in test games this week.
Oghenekaro Etebo missed a penalty for the Eagles in the second half, while Katsina United will feel hard done by after their penalty appeal was refused thereafter.
Samson Siasia fielded a strong side with Femi Thomas in goal, Chima Akas, Ifeanyi Matthew, Bright Onyedikachi and Chisom Chikatara started the game for the Eagles, while Chibuzor Okonkwo, Godwin Obaje, Emmanuel Daniel and Orji Kalu were introduced in the second half.
The Eagles are preparing for two AFCON qualifiers against Egypt later this month.
