HISTORY
DA-MOF group was formed in 2005 in Elelenwo Port-Harcourt, Nigeria by Unabunwa Samuel (Sauw Blaze) as a music band. Jesse Kalu (FUJI-D) joined the group that same year until in 2006 when
Onwuchekwa Emmanuel (Jephy Cheks) joined.
The original name was “Men Of Flames” but was rebranded to “Da-Mof in 2007 before parting ways
with the former manager. Between 2005 to 2008, Da-Mof recorded some songs with rolls rock studio
but terminated the contract with the then manager and in 2009, the songs titled “Orphan child” and
“Widows” was produced.
The success of the songs brought a new dawn and saw the inclusion of Obumneme Chukwukere (Zulgo) into the band as the manager. Da-Mof began to serve as a voice for the Orphans and Widows through music and advocacy. In June 2010, Da-Mof hosted her first gospel concert at St. Marks (Ang.) Church Elelenwo, Port-Harcourt, Nigeria and in October, a charity show was also held for orphans and the less privileged at Pend Motels, Elelenwo Port-Harcourt Nigeria.
OBJECTIVES
Da-Mof which is a blend of a music band and Humanitarian agency after undergoing another
rebranding into “Da-Mof group”, has the following objectives:
Redirecting Music towards the true essence Restoring norms and values through music
Restoring confidence and hope to the vulnerable class of the populace e.g. Orphans, Widows,
Mentally and physically challenged.
To advocate for the victims of wars and insurgency around the world.
To promote moral values in the music industry.
To use music which is a universal language to sue for peace in Nigeria, Middle East and every other war prone zone in the world.
To encourage music writers to write songs that will promote peace and unity.
To enhance the perception of music as a continuum, moral control system, consensus decision making
process, commercial in road and peaceful way of life.
To discourage racism and other racial affiliated actions using music.
To empower youths economically and other sets of people that needs to be empowered through
partnership with other agencies, NGO’s, government and private organisations. To organise a mega “Peace Concert” at least once in a year in Nigeria, Africa, Middle East, and other parts of the world.
ABOUT PEACE MOVE CONCERT
The maiden edition of the “Peace Move Concert” was scheduled scheduled for December 2014 at Dan Anyiam stadium Owerri, Imo state but was later postponed to 2015 so as to meet the necessities.
The necessary arrangements are on-going and the event shall converge thousands of people.
We are willing to partner with you (Corporate organisations, NGO’s, individuals and government) to see the realization of our modest attempt to restore peace, unity and development in the society through entertainment.
The importance of peace cannot be over- emphasized as there can be no positive development in the absence of peace.
This is our own way of joining forces with the Nigeria government under the leadership of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan (GCFR), the United Nations and other peace loving states to combat insurgency, terrorism, poverty, disasters and crime.
We shall not relent until victory is achieved. We are Da-Mof, We are Peace Ambassadors.
