Nigeria’s Medal hopefuls at the Rio 2016 Olympic Men’s Football Tournament, the Dream Team VI will face their toughtest test yet at the games on Wednesday against Germany in the semi final , but the Coaches are not losing sleep over the threat of playing the best attacking side in the tournament as member of the technical crew, Monday Odigie told footballlive.ng he hopes the team improves on their performances as they have done in previous games.

Dream Team: NOC Investigates Counterfeiting of PVCs…NFF linked in breach 
Minister of Sport, Barrister Solomon Dalung has instructed the Nigeria Olympic Committee to investigate the counterfeiting of Personal Identification Cards in the Dream Team VI contingent.
A three man panel has been dispatched to Salvador, Brazil to investigate allegations of abuse of Personal Identification Cards known as PVCs or accreditation cards according to the Minister.
This followed a mail dated 12th of August and signed by Lenny Abbey, head of NOC Relations and Services, which read:

DEALDONE: Gernot Rohr named new Nigeria Technical Adviser 
German manager and former footballer , Gernot Rohr has signed a two-year deal to become technical adviser to the Nigeria national team, the African country’s football federation said on Tuesday.
The 63-year-old has extensive experience of African football after stints with Gabon, Niger and Burkina Faso, and will work alongside Salisu Yusuf, who was named as the NFF’s head coach in July.

The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed the appointment of Gernot Rohr on  2-year deal which will see the Geman work with the FA as Technical Adviser to the Super Eagles.
Rohr, 63, was recommended this week though news had filtered out last weekend of his pending appointment.

Farmer Arrested In Imo State For Selling 7 Children For N400,000

49-year-old farmer  Iidentified as  Gabriel Ajor, has been nabbed in Owerri For Selling 7 Kids.
The farmer was arraigned before a Lokoja Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly kidnapping and selling seven children including his two sons and an eight-month old baby for N400,000.
Ajor had conned the parents of the five other children into believing he wanted to send the children to schools.

The opening ceremony Friday at the Rio Olympics saw the countries of the world display colorful uniforms depicting their culture.
Nigeria has always impressed with its attire during the event, which made Friday’s donning of tracksuits very puzzling.
Turns out there was a good reason for the simple choice. According to Alexander Wolff of Sports Illustrated, the delegation was forced to wear tracksuits for the opening ceremony after their plane didn’t make it to Rio in time.

NPFL Champions Enyimba failed to climb into the top-four after playing out a goalless draw at home against Sunshine Stars in a rescheduled league match on Wednesday.Paul Aigbogun’s men remain in sixth place with 42 points but with a game in hand.
On their part though, Sunshine climbed up to seventh on the table with 40 points on the back of draw.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) national secretary, Mr. Muhammed Sanusi announced that  NFF and sports kits company Nike reached an agreement to redesign the national team Jersey on March 2016. They have unveiled  the Jersey.  The picture above is the new Jersey. Is it Nice? Do you like it?
 The new Jersey is said to worth $750,000 in the first year and by 2017 the sports kit company will be supply Jersey worth $1m.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and sports kits manufacturing company NIKE have concluded arrangements to redesign the national team jerseys, Mohammed Sanusi, the NFF General Secretary, said on Monday.
