A 38-year old nurse from Germany has apologised to the families of 30 patients he killed as part of a thrill-seeking game, reported the Independent on Friday.
The nurse, known only as Niels H., is currently on trial for the murder of 3 people and attempted murder of 2 people between 2003 and 2005.
He told the court he injected his patients with an overdose of heart medication and then attempted to revive them. He said he did this to at least 90 patients and admitted he killed at least 30 of them.
Prosecutors believe Niels got a kick out of resuscitating his patients after he got bored with his new position when he was moved out from an emergency room.
“When a CPR occurred there he got a kick out of it and decided to actively bring about resuscitation cases in Delmenhorst,” said court spokesperson Michael Herrmann.
