Two-time winners of the CAF Champions League, Enyimba Int’l FC started off their 2015 campaign on the continent with a 3-0 win over Benin Republic Club, Bouffles du Borgou 3-0 in Aba , but Captain of the side, Chinedu Udoji says the team is under pressure.
Udoji admitted the team is still haunted by their round of 16 ouster to AS Real Bamako last season in the CAF Champions League.
The Aba Elephants lost 1-2 at home and secured a lone goal win in the reverse fixture. It proved to be to little and they lost on the away-goal rule.
” we have to correct our mistakes from last season.we are under pressure to post a good result this time around.
” We have learnt a lot from our mistakes last time and want to work hard on our chances so we can finally eliminate the ghost of last season.”
Udoji also praises his teammates who he said showed great strength and resilience despite having only 3 weeks to train.
” Despite of the difficult times, not resuming training in time before a continental game.I had just 3 weeks to prepare and I must commend my teammates and the Coaches for that deserving result.”
