Zambia’s U23 squad members trained lightly inside the Abuja National Stadium and Coach criticized the turf, calls it bumpy.
The Zambia U23 are in Abuja, where they will play the Dream Team VI in a second round, first leg All Africa Games qualifier this weekend.
The technical bench which is led by Fighton Simukonda who is assisted by Chintu Kampamba has named five players from the U20 national team which recently participated in the Africa Youth Championship currently ongoing in Senegal.
According to Football Association of Zambia sources, the players include defenders Boyd Mkandawire and Kapota Kayawe, midfielders Larry Bwalya and Spencer Sautu as well as Striker Patrick Ngoma.
The team will be without three key players who were named in the provisional squad among them South Africa based midfielder Mukuka Mulenga who failed to pitch up, U20 captain and Chipolopolo midfielder Lubambo Musonda and Bruce Musakanya who are both injured.
Fighton Simukonda told www.footballlive.ng after the team’s first training session that: ” The practice for us was good as was the reception though pitch was bumpy but we can handle it.”
