Secretary General of the Nigerian football federation (NFF) Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme has bemoaned the forfeited match against mail, as it would have been a good level of preparation for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World cup billed to take place in Canada.
“Ordinarily, in as much as it would have been a good quality match in terms of the FIFA World Cup that is going to take place in Canada, at the last minute they decided to withdraw and there was nothing we could have done” Ikpeme told footballlive.ng.
Ikpeme further revealed that the federation is mostly pleased with the girls because of the level of organization, desire and drive being shown by the squad as the girls have promised Nigerians that they would go beyond the group stages in Canada.
“As a federation we are happy but having said that, the coaching crew is also doing a fantastic job in getting the very best out in terms of preparations”
“The federation is very positive from what we have been seeing from the squad, we have identifies good organization when they are playing, the commitment, aggression and we want to belief that this time around, we will go beyond the group stage because the girls have indeed promised the federation and Nigerians”
“For a team as a nucleus to say that, we as a federation are very much encouraged because of the target they have set for themselves”
