Stephen Keshi says he has no guaranteed starters from the 26 players invited for the AFCON qualifiers and evaluate the home based invitees soon as training commences.
In a exclusive chat with www.footballlive.ng Keshi hinted he was yet to see the players, suggesting the players penciled down for the first leg of the AFCON qualifiers against Chad had not entirely been his idea.
Meanwhile, reacting to Kaduna’s Amadu Bello Stadium which was selected by the Federation to host the Chad qualifier, Keshi seemed to have to qualms about the choice and acknowledged the North-West zone had been good hosts in the past.
But, the gaffer revealed his best stadium experience was in Lagos; in his playing days, while as a coach his best stadium experience, remains the U.J Esuene stadium In Calabar.
‘ I don’t know [ the starting XI] and until I see what we have on ground I can’t speculate. We’ll see how the players perform in training then we can draw up a list. Kaduna is good, a friendly atmosphere is assured all the time we’ve been there. But as a player, the National Stadum [Lagos]is the best for me, the most exciting to play football, the crowd. I wish some day we could go back there but the playing turf is bad now,’ Keshi told www.footballlive.ng.
