Out of shape Agbim, Ejide should never be in Eagles – Babayaro.

Out of shape Agbim, Ejide should never be in Eagles – BabayaroEx- goalkeeper, Emmanuel Babayaro has made a decision to leave out the home-based Eagles Captain Chigozie Agbim from the list of invited players for the 2017 AFCON qualifiers against Chad, 13 June.
Babayaro who was member of the Dream Team that picked gold at the Summer Olympic Games in 1996 noted that Agbim’s physical state was a huge disadvantage and never should have been considered by the National team selectors as first choice.
In an exclusive chat with www.footballlive.ng Babayaro who was very critical of the Enugu Rangers goalkeeper, insists that the voice of reasoning has finally prevailed over sentiment.
” As far as am concerned he’s never been good for the National team, don’t get me wrong, he’s a fantastic goalkeepr but that’s one thing, being in the National team is another.
” firstly, he lacks the height, secondy, he gets to be very big and shapeless which also affects his reflexes. You can’t help it, the bigger you get you lose reflex and that’s a fact, so I’ve always maintained he never should have been in the National team.”
In the same vain, the former International argued that current second choice Super Eagles shot stopper, Austin Ejide was just as unfit as Agbim for a place in the National team.
” I’ve also watched Ejide and never been impressed with him from the get go. He has the same problem around his waist; weight, which means he can’t be as flexible as the job requires.”
