“I hate having to
address the negativity during this time of grief. It is irrelevant,”
Montana wrote. “I pray that everyone would consider that real people
lost a real man, friend, brother, father before spreading hateful
speech. His funeral is taken care of. My brother is in good hand[s]. If you don't have nothing positive to say keep it to your self #ripchinx.”
Lionel “Chinx” Pickens, a 31-year-old father of three, was killed in a drive-by last weekend. NYPD detectives say the murder could be linked to the 2007 unsolved murder of Stack Bundles. “They were friends, so we're looking at all hip hop angles," said NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce.
Chinx's funeral will be held Tuesday, May 26, at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York.
