Shell boost Ssebuguzi, Blick with Shs100m package.

KAMPALA. Few names are as big as Ronald Ssebuguzi and Arthur Blick in the current motor rally circles. One is the reigning champion of the National Rally Championship (NRC) while the other is the current leader after two rounds this season.

The pair will for the rest of the season drive under one team after Vivo Energy, the company that distributes and markets Shell fuels and lubricants in Uganda, formalized its sponsorship with the drivers.

The Shs 100 million sponsorship will have Ssebuguzi, powered by the V-Power brand share the amount equally with Blick who is backed by the Helix brand.

"The sponsorship is really handy because we do not know the expenditure of the new car," Ssebuguzi's co-driver Cedric Buzabo said at the official launch of the event done at Shell Ntinda on Wednesday.

The pair expects to unveil a new car, a Mitsubishi Evo X soon and is convinced there are more twists and turns still expected in this year's title race.

"There will be slip ups at the top and that is when we hope to pounce," added Ssebuguzi who trails Blick by 110 points after two rounds.

Blick on the hand believes formalizing the deal is a huge boost ahead of the third NRC round in Mukono on Saturday week.

"It is very timely and leaves us to concentrate on the races ahead, Blick stated
