3H Suspect In Lil Wayne Bus Shooting Arrested

The man identified as a suspect in the April shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus is now in police custody.

According to Cobb County’s Sheriff’s Department, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, 25, turned himself in to authorities earlier today (June 2). Winfrey, a native of Georgia, is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon, and criminal gang activity. An arrest warrant was filed on May 21.

On April 26, a tour bus leaving Atlanta’s Compound nightclub, where Lil Wayne delivered a scheduled performance, was fired upon by an unknown gunman. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, there were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.

Last week, TMZ reported that Georgia police believe Winfrey, who is tied to Young Thug, fired upon Lil Wayne’s tour bus to “gain favor with the Bloods.”

Neither Wayne nor Thug has publicly commented on the matter.
