Brila Sports-Welcome New Govt with World Cup Trophy, Glo encourages F/Eagles

National telecommunications operator, Globacom, has tasked the Flying Eagles to welcome the new administration of President Muhammadu Buhari with the U-20 World Cup trophy as the FIFA Under-20 World Cup formally kicked off in New Zealand on Saturday.

The Flying Eagles will lock horns with Brazil in the opening Group E game on Monday 1st June and will play against Korea DPR on June 4 before concluding the group matches with Hungary on June 7.
In a press statement in Lagos on Sunday, Globacom urged the Flying Eagles to go for outright victory when they face brazil on Monday in order to take commanding position in the group.
“We have followed the Flying Eagles’ preparation for the World Cup so far and are convinced that the team will live up to the expectation of millions of Nigerians in the tournament,” the statement said.
The telecoms company advised Flying Eagles to work hard and win the trophy in order to surpass the silver medals won by the 1989 and 2005 sets in Saudi Arabia and Holland respectively.
“We believe that the team has quality players in its squad and the fact that they have been playing together from their Golden Eaglets days will help the team to conquer all oppositions.
Also, their preparation outside the country which has been without distraction will help the boys to concentrate and excel,” the statement said.

“This perhaps is the best opportunity for Nigeria to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup and this is the best squad to break that jinx. We believe that the current Flying Eagles have all it takes at this tournament to make history.
We therefore call on all Nigerians to continue to pray for the team to succeed,” the statement concluded.
Globacom is the official telecommunications partner of the Nigeria Football Federation and the major sponsor of the Nigerian national teams.
