BUHARI'S FIRST APPOINTMENTS: ANOTHER FAILED PROMISE

President Buhari raised our hopes when he promised to reduce the cost of governance by working with a lean cabinet. I made it clear then, that the leanness of his cabinet is not going to be from the ministers, as the Constitution makes it mandatory for him to appoint at least, one minister from each State of the Federation. Therefore, we cannot have less than thirty seven ministers in this
government. I hoped then that Buhari will be able to keep to this promise by avoiding the duplication of appointments, especially in the area of special advisers, assistants and senior special whatevers.
With the appointment of Femi Adeshina as his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) and Garba Shehu as the Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), President Buhari has further proven that he cruised to victory on the back of lies and deception. He made promises, he knew he can't keep.
For your information, our President has broken about FOUR! fundamental promises since he assumed power three days ago. Some of these promises he has failed to keep are:
1. He promised that him and all his appointees will make their assets public, on assumption of office and at the termination of their tenures. Buhari and his deputy, Osinbajo have declared their assets as the Constitution demands, with the Code of Conduct Bureau. Nigerians do not know what they declared.
2. President Buhari promised that there won't be an office of the First Lady under him. Aisha Buhari has fully assumed that office, a mere forty eight hours after our President took oath of office. Ify-asia Chiemeziem says our President was pussy-whipped into accepting that.
3. Our President promised that he will fight from the front-lines against Boko Haram. Scores of lives have been lost in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe States in the last three days, and we are yet to see our President in his full military gear. Our President has remained in the comfort of his Aso Rock villa, while our fellow citizens are murdered in their numbers.
4. Our President promised that petrol will be sold at forty Naira when he takes power. He has taken power, yet, petrol sells at 120 Naira and above.
WHERE IS THE CHANGE?
