CAF Confederation Cup: End of the road, Warri Wolves fall 3-4 on agg.

The Seasiders won 3-1 on the day but fell 3-4 on aggregate and Wolves will always rue the 52nd minute Rudy Bhebey-Ndey leveler which was all that stood between them and a chance to stake a claim for a group stage appearance in the Confederation Cup this season.

The forlorn faces of the Warri crowd filled the heart with the reminder that the last of Nigeria’s representatives in any continental club competition have been knocked out.
[ AC LĂ©opards’s Rudy Bhebey-Ndey made sure the task of overturning a 3-0 deficit was a steeper mountain to surmount when he cancelled out Gbolahan Salami’s 48th minute opener at the Warri City Stadium.
If the Nigerian clubside lacked motivation before the game, the tensed atmosphere around the grounds inspired very little confidence.
But they gave a good fight unfortunately falling short in the final third and the world will move on now without Nigeria as yet again the league and club rating will see the country further plunge risking losing their undeserved double entrants in both the Confederation cup and Champions League.
