Shopper hurt as part of ceiling falls in at Sandton City

A section of the ceiling between Sandton City and the Nelson Mandela Square collapsed this afternoon‚ injuring a woman shopper.

“We can confirLm a small portion of vertical ceiling collapsed on the walkway… at 3.10pm‚” the centre’s general manager Julie Hillary said in a statement issued via Twitter. “Determining the cause of this incident is our number one priority and it will be thoroughly investigated.”
