The Spain international is in a stand-off with the Red Devils over a move to Real Madrid but could still feature for Louis van Gaal against Club Brugge
Manchester United have named David De Gea in their Champions League squad for this month's play-off against Club Brugge.
De Gea was omitted from the United squad to face Tottenham on the opening day of the Premier League by boss Louis van Gaal, who suggested
the Spain international was not focused enough to feature amid a prolonged stand-off with Real Madrid over a summer transfer.
But this has not prevented Van Gaal from including his star goalkeeper in his plans for the two-legged tussle with the Belgian giants, sparking fresh optimism around Old Trafford that De Gea could yet stay in Manchester.
De Gea is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and has
already told United that he wants to join Madrid, but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee and Van Gaal
is determined not to let one of his best players leave easily.
