Two students of Stephjoy Boys Christian High School in Ndeiya, Kiambu County,
Kenya died early morning Monday August 3rd after a fire broke out in
their dormitory. Ian Kamau, 16 and Edwin Mugo, 15 perished in the fire while
eight others were injured.
One of them who sustained serious burns was taken to Kenyatta National
Hospital while the other seven were admitted to Tigoni Hospital in Limuru.
Kiambu County Police Commander, James Mugera said the fire started at
about 1 am on Monday while most of the students were sleeping. He said
investigation into the incident have been launched in order to know the cause
of the fire. However, according to latest reports,10 other students has been
detained on suspicion of arson.
