Singer Kcee with bags of dollars |
Some are smiling while others are dying. It is really an unfortunate situation.
Can I ask this, what is the definition of heartlessness?
Who in this world is emotionless, enjoying wickedness? So many people are hopeless, it is really a meaningless.
Now, this is the story..
It was about 12noon on the 29th day of September when I left first bank at Douglas road, Owerri after a transaction. I headed towards Ikenegbu axis via whethral road and as I approached crunches fast food, I heard in a faint voice, "brother, aguruu naa agum", I turned back and saw a haggardly looking boy of about 9yrs old try to summon the courage to talk to me.
Initially, I was sceptical considering the fact that corporate beggars have flooded the city of Owerri and secondly, fear of the unknown being that this is "onwa ember" when mysterious occurrences is at its peak but I was moved with compassion seeing how the boy was looking, I decided to interrogate him before rendering any assistance to him..
The way most hungry people look |
In cause of the interrogation, he told me that he is from ikeduru and that he stays with his aunt at Nekede. He told me that he hasn't eaten since after he had his launch the previous day and that the aunt told him that he won't eat until night falls. When I asked him why he isn't in school as at that school hours he said that the aunt has refused to pay some fees that puts him out of school but the aunt's children had all gone to school. The boy, as little as he is, took off from Nekede with a big bowl hoping to get money with which he will buy sachet water to trade and raise money for himself. It was a very long scene but I decided to take my time with him.
I ask him where he can get the water and went with him to get them. I bought him bags of water after which I took him a food vendor where he ate on my account.
Don't get it twisted, I am not writing this because I want to blow my trumpet, I see it as a privilege when ever I put a smile on people's face, but because I want to draw the consciousness of the public to a group of unfortunately unfortunate children whose Destiny and future is been used and rubbished by heartlessly heartless wicked nonentities..
For goodness sake, how will a woman who has gone through the travails of child bearing be so heartless to subject another woman's child to such inhumane treatment? This is man being unfair to mankind.
For those of them that sends their children to live with another, please be sure of who you send your child to because of "ndi mara Mara na'ihu gbompiti na'azu". They end up turning your children to either sex slaves, emotional slaves or subject to other forms of slavery. They hardly give them good meal, going to school is a favour they do them while education is supposed to be their right.
My sincere advice is that you plan your family and let your children stay with you no matter the condition because there is no place like home and no love like motherly love.
I also demand that the government should live up to their responsibility by enforcing the child right law so that these children can have a good life.
Permit me to stop here for the want of battery life but we should please join in the fight against child abuse You shouldn't wait until it happens to your child or before the children on the streets start looking like these Biafran children as during civil war before lending your voice against this inhumanity.
God Bless Us...
