Another shooting in New Orleans Sunday evening injured at least 10 in a public city park called Bunny Friend Playground. Shots rang out around 6:30 in the Ninth Ward on Gallier.
Street.Local ABC affiliate WGNO reported that around 500 people had amassed in the New Orleans park in order to record a music video for a currently unknown artist. The gathering itself had not applied for a permit, and police were already en route to break it up.
Witnesses say the shooting took place between two groups who arrived at the park and began shooting at each other. According to CNN, both fled into the city of New Orleans following the confrontation. Police are reviewing surveillance footage in search of more answers.
Local law enforcement said that ten of the wounded were taken to the hospital by emergency services, while six arrived at the nearest medical care facility another way. Some New Orleans locals took to Twitter to lament the shooting and what they see as a continuing problem with violence in the city.
