Reports in England suggest unless something major happens, Jose Mourinho believes he will get the Manchester United job within six months. The Special One has even asked his trusted staff who would be willing to join him.
Mourinho is liked by Alex Ferguson and there has been informal contact between the Portuguese coach and United.
He has stayed in England after being sacked by Chelsea last month and is ready to get back to work immediately.
Mourinho will be in pole position to take over if LVG is axed.
But there are plenty among the United hierarchy who are desperate for Van Gaal to succeed.
Fergie’s successor, David Moyes, only lasted 11 months at Old Trafford. And Van Gaal has been in charge for just 20 months.
Results and performances have not been ignored though and United have even received criticism from kit-suppliers Adidas for their slow playing style.
