Miss Colombia is speaking out about being mistakenly crowned
Miss Universe — with the person responsible for the gaffe.
Ariadna Gutierrez will appear on the “The Steve Harvey Show”
in an interview set to air later this month, Entertainment Tonight reports.
The sit-down will mark the first time they have seen each
other since the Miss Universe pageant on Dec. 20, when Harvey accidentally
named Guiterrez the winner.
Moments after the announcement, Harvey had to reveal that
Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach, was the actual Miss Universe.
Gutierrez’s decision to appear on Harvey’s show could be
linked to a Twitter poll she posted Wednesday. She asked fans if she should do
a sit-down with him, with 72 percent voting yes.
And after giving interviews in which she said she was
humiliated by Harvey's flub, she now seems to be finding more humor from the
situation.
The 22-year-old beauty tweeted her approval of Jane Lynch's
parody of the Miss Universe gaffe while hosting Wednesday's People's Choice
Awards, and gushed that it was "awesome."
As for the “Family Feud” host, he broke his silence about
the pageant blunder earlier this week and revealed he tried to reach out and
apologize for his error. “When I did it, it was horrible for Miss Colombia,” he
admitted Tuesday on the “Steve Harvey Morning Show.” “And she’s the only one I
haven’t had a chance to talk to.
“I’ve had a chance to talk to Miss Philippines.
I’ve talked to all the pageant people. I’ve talked to people backstage. Even me
and the director had a long talk. But I haven’t been able to reach out and talk
to.
