Imo Rerun: PDP, APC React To INEC Deferral

Imo

Reactions have continued to trail the postponement of the Imo State rerun election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Imo State, Nnamdi Anyaehi, condemned the action taken by INEC while addressing a news conference in Owerri, the state’s capital.
Anyaehi alleged that it was a calculated move by the APC led government in the state to subvert the electoral process.

He maintained that the shift in the election would not deter the party from winning the election anytime the rerun was fixed.
However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State said that the action taken by INEC was a step in the right direction.
According to them, the decision was in reaction to the protests and allegations by some Imo indigenes that some INEC officials were conniving with the PDP in the state to rig the elections.
The APC Chairman in the state, Hilary Eke, maintained that his party remained a party to beat in the election, stressing that they have all it takes to win the election.
