We all know a senator
from Bayelsa, Ben Murray Bruce, according to him has been making common sense
by urging Nigerians to buy made in Nigeria products to grow Naira.
But Senator Dino Melaye used the opportunity to come for Nigerian
girls by begging senators to patronize
'made in Nigeria girls'. Please is this an insult or patronage? He laso refers to Edo State Governor, Adms Oshiomhole who refused to patronize made in Nigeria girls...... LOL.
The debate on the motion on the need to patronize made in
Nigeria goods took a new dimension on Tuesday when Senator Dino Melaye (APC,
Kogi Central) asked his colleagues to patronize made in Nigeria girls. Choi. My
Nigerian sisters we need to look into this matter.
Melaye had while contributing to the motion sponsored by
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe (PDP, Abia South) said the campaign should not be
limited to goods alone but girls should be included. #Inukwa!
This not upset the senators who have daughters that are made
in Nigeria at home and aabroad, instead it generated a general laughter greeted
Melaye's contribution, a situation that made him to stop for a while.

But he later continued by saying, " With due apology to
my Comrade Governor of Edo state, we must start to campaign for made in Nigeria
girls. It is time for my colleagues to start patronising made in Nigeria
women".
It was after he stated this that the Senate President Bukola
Saraki cut in and said that motion was clear enough.
Earlier while moving the motion, Abaribe said until Nigeria
adopt a 'pro-made in Nigeria ' procurement policy, made in Nigeria would
continue to lag behind both in competition and acceptability.
“Economic indicators have confirmed that unless we produce
what we consume, the Nigerian economy will be worse off for it," he said.
In adopting the motion, the Senate urged the
Federal Government to initiate and implement the first option policy on purchase
of locally manufactured products for any government procurement in all arms
