Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has approved the
removal of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Engineer Rabiu Sulaiman
Bichi, and replaced him with Usman Alhaji Usman.
Mr. Usman’s appointment followed the dismissal of Bichi, who
was appointed by the former governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwoso, but was
retained by Mr. Ganduje.
Ganduje also approved the appointment of Alhaji Ibrahim
Mohammed Kankarofi as the new principal private Secretary to the governor in
the cabinet reshuffle.
The appointments are contained in a statement signed by the
Kano State Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Na’iya and made available to
newsmen in Kano on Saturday morning.
The statement also said that Saluhu Yakassai, son of
renowned politician, Tanko Yakassai, replaced Alhaji Halilu Dantiye as the
Director-General Media of Media and Communications.
Others affected in the cabinet reshuffle include, Alhaji
Usman Bala; Hajiya Bilkisu Waziri; Dr Saadatu Bala; Danladi Garba; Aminu
Mohammed, and Aliyu Sani.
Similarly, the governor approved the immediate redeployment
of six permanent secretaries to other ministries.
According to the statement, the appointment and redeployment
are with immediate effect.
