At the beginning of this year, news that 37-year-old CM Punk's first fight in UFC would be against Mickey Gall surfaced and confirmed. The former WWE champion is scheduled to make his long-awaited debut in the Octagon on Sept. 23 at UFC 203 in Cleveland.
The welterweight fight between Punk and Gall was originally slated for this summer, but it had to be pushed back due to Punk undergoing surgery to repair a herniated disk in February.
Punk, was signed with UFC in December 2014.
Gall (2-0) scored a 45-second submission win over Mike Jackson in February.
Punk has his share of detractors who believe that he will never actually fight in UFC. Time will tell if he ultimately proves them wrong.
