S.A President Zuma Declares Public Holiday on August 3, to Enable Eligible Voters Vote

South African president Jacob Zuma has officially declared the day of the 2016 Municipal Elections a public holiday. The aim is to enable all South Africans have reached voting age to vote to exercise their right on 3 August 2016.

In a statement Jacob Zuma said, “Voting is a fundamental right enshrined in our Constitution. It is important that citizens are granted an opportunity to exercise this right freely. This is particularly so when they elect this sphere of government that is closest to them,”.
President of South Africa Zuma has called on all eligible voters to go out in numbers to make their mark.
This year marks 16 years of democratic local government in South Africa.
