The League Management Company has fined Heartland Football of Owerri ₦2.75m for their failure to provide security and crowd control during their Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 28 fixture against Oriental rivals FC IfeanyiUbah at the Dan Anyiam Stadium last Saturday.
The LMC also placed a two-point deduction on the Naze Millionaires for hindering the complete video coverage of the game.
The Owerri- based side will also play their next three home games behind closed doors starting from the matchday 30 fixtures against Nasarawa United scheduled for August 7.
Also, chairman of Heartland Football Supporters, Mr Iyke Jacob, has also been banned from all NPFL matches for the rest of the season.
The League body also directed the club to mark restricted areas and hold a workshop on good behaviors for their supporters as condition for reopening the stadium to supporters.
