Samson Siasia has described Mikel Obi as one of the greatest footballer Nigeria has produced and the best pick as Captain in the current Dream Team because the 29-year-old possess exemplary leadership qualities.
Mikel joined the Dream Team VI as one of three overage player and was recently named Team Nigeria’s Captain to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The Chelsea Central Midfielder left pre season with his EPL Club after two games, risking losing out on a first team place – with the acquisition of Frenchman N’golo Kante.
This, however, does not seem to bother the player or the Dream Team, Head Coach who hopes Mikel’s experience will impact the rest of the squad. Siasia hinted the player, who’s versatile could be deployed in a more attacking role when the tournaments gets underway in Rio.
