‎Patriotic Question‬ by Prof Obiarari:Must Our Public Sector Be Inefficient?

Often times, I ask myself all these question; why private businesses thrive more than public businesses.  Those in public sector don't care at all, they do what ever they like without getting corrected, reproached or punished. It s common all government own firms, from education sector, health, and other sectors. They don't just care at all.

Professor Nnamdi  Obiaraeri, has these to say, read and share your views: Do we have a common interest in not developing our public sector in Naija? Why is it that in Nigeria, everything owned by the public is "jagajaga"?
Why do private businesses thrive, boom and grow while our public or government owned enterprises shrink or whither away too quick or die prematurely?
While Dangote, Otedola and you (Yes you!) are running your business at a huge profit and with excellent returns on investment, our public businesses with heavy capital financing are embarrasingly struggling if not going under.
Take a quick look-
☆In the communication and print and electronic media sector-
NITEL versus MTN, GLO, AIRTEL etc
NTA versus CHANNELS, AIT, SILVERBIRD etc
DAILY TIMES versus THIS DAY, SUN, DAILY EXPRESS etc
IMO NEWSPAPER versus HORN, NEWSPOINT, ANNOUNCER, NEWSBREAK, TRUMPETER etc.
☆In the aviation sector-
NIGERIAN AIRWAYS versus ARIK, DANA, OVERLAND etc.
☆In the education sector-
Public primary, secondary and tertiary institutions versus the Private primary, secondary and tertiary schools.
☆In the service industry-
The zero work ethics, indiscipline, poor dress code and lack of commitment of civil servants or public officers versus the turbo charged private or corporate officers.
Gentlemen and Ladies, brothers and sisters, young and old, politicians and non-politicians, something must give in the interest of the living, newly born and unborn Nigerian.
We cannot continue like this...This is uncommon common sense!
A new normal is possible!
