A Hong Kong man was sentenced to life in prison for murdering, dismembering, salting then trying to cook his parents in a microwave. The 31-year old pianist committed the gruesome acts in 2013.
The horrific details of Henry Chau’s crimes emerged in court.
Chau spent six months planning to murder his parents Chau Wing-ki, 65, and Siu Yuet-yee, his 63-year-old wife.
Forensic officer Mak Chun-hung told the court the bodies were found two weeks after the murder. Their heads were found in two fridges and their body parts in plastic boxes.
Police also found a shopping list noting that he needed, “knives, saw blades, bleach, refrigerators and microwave ovens.”
It is unclear why Chau murdered his parents but he is said to have held grudges against his parents for forcing to take piano lessons.
During sentencing the judge told Chau he was a “narcissist” who was “preoccupied with fantasies for success”.
“In practice, you have no feelings for other people.”
