No survivors': Plane crashes in French Alps: UPDATES

An Airbus A320 airliner has crashed into the French Alps with 142 passengers and six crew members on board, according to reports on Tuesday.
It’s understood the airplane, belonging to the German low-cost airline Germanwings, crashed near Barcelonette in the souther Alps.
Le Figaro reported the flight made a distress call at 10:47am before it disappeared off the radar at 11:20am.
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said he understood all of the people on board were feared dead.
The flight was on route to Dusseldorf, Germany from Barcelona, Spain.
“The cause is at present unknown,” he told reporters.
Germanwings wrote on its Facebook page: “We have recently become aware of media reports speculating on an incident though we still do not have any own confirmed information. As soon as definite information is available, we shall inform the media immediately. Please monitor our website www.germanwings.com for periodic updates.”
