President Buhari's First Decision as President

As his first decision upon taking office, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said, he would set up a new military command centre in the northeast city Maiduguri, a Boko Haram stronghold to clamp down on the dreaded Islamists sect. Buhari stated this in his inaugural address as President and commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
The newly sworn in President vowed to wage an intensified military campaign against Boko Haram, describing the Islamists as “mindless” and “godless”. Buhari claimed “victory cannot be achieved from a command and control centre in Abuja”.
