"This road also leads to the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and the Naval Warship NNS Pathfinder. Therefore, we were under obligation to fulfil our promise to the people and also take actions to expand the economy of the state".

Commenting at the commissioning of the Elioparanwo Road, Governor Wike said that the road is relevant to one of the most populous communities in O
bio/Akpor Local Government Area which determines the direction of election results.
The governor stated that the decision to construct the Obiri-Ikwerre road was taken during the Holy Ghost Rally in Port Harcourt hosted by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
He said that the road will engender economic growth in Obio/Akpor and Ikwerre Local Government Areas communities along the route, pointing out that the road will be completed in nine to ten months.

The governor urged the people to support the contractor to deliver the project without molestation. Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Mr Bathuel Iheanyichukwu stated that the two road projects were abandoned, but completed in record time by the Governor Wike administration.
